Supporting Hospital Employees in Time of Need

At THA, we talk about our endorsed companies as partners. Partners in our work to provide value and solve problems for all of our member hospitals.  The tripartite relationship among THA, our member hospitals, and endorsed companies is meaningful and mutually beneficial. As with any partnership, however, there are times when one partner may need a little more support than the others. This is the situation for our hospitals on the Texas coast.

Hurricane Harvey and its resulting devastating flooding caused unprecedented damage in Houston, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Victoria, Rockport and into Central Texas. We will be dealing with the aftermath of this once-in-a-lifetime storm for years to come.

As partners in our work, HealthShare-endorsed companies are uniquely positioned to support our hospitals in the coming months as they begin to rebuild their facilities and communities.

THA has established the THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund that will provide financial assistance to employees in hospitals in a FEMA-designated disaster area and who have experienced property loss or damage. THA will give 100 percent of the contributions to our hospital employees, many of whom have been providing care and services around-the-clock since the storm hit and haven’t yet been able to survey the damage in their own homes. Online donations may be made at www.tha.org/harvey, or checks may be sent to THA, 1108 Lavaca Street, Suite 700, Austin, TX 78701 (please put THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund in the memo line). HealthShare will be distributing more detailed information to all of our endorsed companies in the next week on the THA Hospital Employee Assistance Fund and how you can help.

It’s in the difficult times that the true measure and value of a partnership really comes through.
